Mumbai: Samay Raina’s ‘India’s Got Latent’ is reportedly facing fresh controversy after a complaint was filed against casting director Mukesh Chhabra and Netflix India over the alleged use of inappropriate language on the show.
The complainant, Anurag Shrivastav, alleged that he watched an episode of India’s Got Latent on Netflix while staying at a Mumbai hotel on September 22, 2026.
The episode featured Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bhuvan Bam, Mukesh Chhabra, Kaustubh Agarwal and host Samay Raina.
According to the complaint, Shrivastav found some of the remarks objectionable and claimed they could have a serious social impact.
He specifically cited an alleged remark made by Chhabra during the episode.
“In the said episode, Mr Mukesh Chhabra appears as a panel member. While watching the program, he was allegedly heard using highly inappropriate, objectionable, and sexually suggestive language, stating: ‘Mere Aaram Nagar mein aao, g**** *****,’” read the complaint.
“The authenticity of this statement, the identification of the voice/person, the complete context, and the exact timestamp need to be verified from the original and unedited recording,” it added.
The complainant alleged that, if verified, the statement could raise concerns about the dignity of viewers and the online safety of children exposed to such content.
Shrivastav also sought an investigation into Netflix’s role, questioning the basis on which such content was allowed to be streamed on the platform.
He further called for an inquiry into the role of Monika Shergill, Netflix India’s content chief, in the matter.
India’s Got Latent has faced controversy in the past as well.
In February 2025, content creator and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia came under heavy criticism over remarks he made about parents and sex during an episode from the show’s first season.
