SC Breather For Congress Leader Pawan Khera Deplaned, Arrested Over Remarks Against PM Modi

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday granted interim relief to senior Congress leader Pawan Khera, who was arrested by Assam police from Delhi airport this morning over his alleged remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

While asking Assam and UP Police to club the FIRs against Khera, the apex court directed a Delhi court to grant interim bail to him till the next date of hearing, ANI reported.

Delhi Airport witnessed drama as a Congress delegation accompanying Pawan Khera raised slogans against the BJP government on the tarmac after he was reportedly asked to get down from Raipur-bound IndiGo 6E204 flight. Congress called the incident “undemocratic” and dictatorial.

The FIR was filed in Dima Hasao for having referred to Narendra Damodardas Modi as Narendra Gautamdas Modi addressing a press conference to demand an investigation by a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) into allegations made by the US-based Hindenburg Research firm against the Adani Group. The Assam Police had then requested Delhi police to arrest him (Pawan Khera).
