SC Collegium Recommends Transfer Of Orissa HC Judge To Calcutta
New Delhi: The Supreme Court (SC) Collegium has recommended for transfer of Justice Chitta Ranjan Dash of Orissa High Court to Calcutta HC.
He was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Orissa High Court on October 7, 2009. He has worked as Additional District and Sessions Judge, Sambalpur, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Deogarh, Special Judge (Vigilance), Sambalpur, District and Sessions Judge, Keonjhar, District and Sessions Judge, Berhampur, Chairman, Orissa Sales Tax Tribunal, Cuttack and Registrar (Administration) of Orissa High Court, Cuttack, before the elevation.
The Collegium has also recommended the transfer of Justice Subhasis Talapatra of Tripura High Court to Orissa HC. He was sworn in as an Additional Judge of Gauhati High Court on November 15, 2011, and took oath as Permanent Judge of High Court of Tripura on September 13, 2013. He officiated as the Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Tripura from 02-11-2018 to 13-11-2018 and again from 11-11-2019.to 15-11-2019.
Besides, the apex court’s collegium has recommended the repatriation of four other Judges. Andhra Pradesh HC’s current Judge Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah to Patna HC, Manipur HC’s Judge Justice Lanusungkum Jamir to Gauhati HC, Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur, the present Judge of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, to Bombay HC and Madhya Pradesh HC’s Judge Justice Purushaindra Kaurav to Delhi HC’s Judge.
