Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: The Supreme Court will hear the plea for a CBI probe into the Nayagarh girl murder case on April 19 after the Odisha government submits its reply.
In January, the girl’s mother Saudamini Sahoo had moved the apex court, seeking a probe into the gruesome murder of her daughter by the central investigating agency.
The mother had earlier opposed the investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Crime Branch alleging involvement of influential politicians in the crime.
The SIT had arrested a 17-year-old of the same village for the crime.
