SCB Medical College In Odisha’s Cuttack Made Nodal Centre For Monkeypox Management In State
Cuttack: SCB Medical College and Hospital in Odisha’s Cuttack has been made the nodal centre for management of monkeypox in the state.
No cases have been detected in the state yet but a few cases have been reported from Kerala and Delhi. The patient in Delhi has no travel history.
With the Odisha government making it the nodal centre for management of monkeypox in the state, a team comprising doctors from various departments such as medicine, gynaecology, microbiology, dermatology and paediatric has been formed by SCB’s administration.
The hospital has already set up an isolation ward and kept four ICU beds for monkeypox cases.
State Health Minister Naba Kishore Das on Tuesday called a high-level meeting to discuss the situation in Odisha, in which CDMOs were directed to keep two beds ready in every District Headquarters Hospital. The minister has called another review meeting on monkeypox on July 30.
The state Health Department has also directed all seven government medical colleges and hospitals (MCHs) in Odisha to keep dedicated beds for monkeypox patients.
