School Transformation Work Under 5T To Be Probed, Stern Action If Found Guilty: Odisha Minister

Bhubaneswar: School and Mass Education Minister of Odisha Nityananda Gond on Monday said that a probe is being initiated into the transformation work undertaken in different schools under 5T initiative.

A thorough probe would be conducted into allegations of irregularities in work done under 5T initiative and in case of discrepancies found, stern action will be taken against guilty, the Minister told media.

Gond further stated that teachers’ posts lying vacant in the state will soon be filled. He said that many fake teachers have been identified in the past, and now the government will investigate the cases and take immediate action against those found guilty.

He warned the teachers to be sincere in their duty and said action would also be taken against those teachers who are not going to school after being transferred. He advised those teachers to go to school and teach children.

It may be mentioned that several schools in the state had a makeover under the school transformation programme of the previous BJD government. It was done under 5T initiative and huge sums were spent on upgrading classrooms and other structures on school premises.

There were allegations of corruption in the school transformation work from many schools. Gond on Monday said that those allegations will now be probed.
