Nabarangpur : With heat wave conditions intensifying across Odisha, the administration in Nabarangapur has ordered the closure of all educational institutions in the district from April 20 until further orders.
According to the official order, all Anganwadi Centres (AWCs), government and private schools, colleges, and technical institutions will remain shut to safeguard the health and well-being of students, teachers, and staff from the extreme summer heat.
However, examinations already scheduled during this period will continue as planned. The district administration has advised institutions to reschedule exams to early morning hours wherever possible to avoid the peak heat of the day. Heads of all educational institutions have been strictly directed to ensure the availability of adequate drinking water facilities and implement necessary heat-wave safety measures.
The decision comes as western and southern districts of Odisha, including Nabarangapur, continue to experience scorching daytime temperatures.
Notably, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings about heatwave conditions in several parts of the state. Temperatures in many districts have already crossed 40°C, and a further rise is expected in the coming days.
