Bhadrak: In response to the ongoing cold wave gripping parts of Odisha, the Bhadrak administration has revised school timings on Saturdays for Classes I to XII.

Classes will now be conducted from 10 am to 4 pm, shifting away from the usual morning sessions.

The order, issued by the Collector and District Magistrate, will be effective from mid-January through mid-February. The adjustment aims to protect students from chilly weather, particularly during early morning hours, while ensuring that academic activities continue uninterrupted.

Morning classes were earlier suspended in Ganjam district due to cold wave conditions, reflecting a wider administrative response to the winter chill.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bhadrak has recorded minimum temperatures ranging from 13–14°C throughout the first week of January with mercury dipping to 11.5°C on Friday.
