Schools In Odisha’s Khurda To Reopen Tomorrow With Early Morning Timings



Bhubaneswar: Schools in Odisha’s Khurda district will reopen on Friday, April 24, after a four-day closure due to hot and humid conditions, which pushed the mercury levels to 40°C.

Khurda Collector Amrit Ruturaj has directed all educational institutions to resume classes with revised early morning timings from 6:30 am to 9:30 am until further orders. The move aims to protect students from peak daytime heat while allowing limited academic activities.

ls from April 20 to 23, a measure mirrored in several other districts to safeguard children’s health amid the prevailing sultry spell and heatwave conditions.

The notification came even as Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari informed that a proposal has been sent to the Chief Minister’s Office for early summer vacation in view of the soaring temperatures, and a decision in this regard is likely in a day or two.
