Puri: All schools in Odisha’s Puri district remain closed on Thursday in view of rain, Puri Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain informed.
The India Meteorological Department has issued orange warning of moderate rain/thundershower with one or two intense spells of rain for Puri, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur and Dhenkanal till noon.

Heavy rain warning was also sounded for Puri along with Khurda, Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur till 11.30.
The weather agency had cautioned people about waterlogging in low-lying areas, occasionally poor visibility and traffic disruption in urban area.
Earlier in the day, the IMD had warned of moderate thunderstorm accompanied by squall wind speed reaching (30-40 kmph),
lightning and intense spell rain in some parts of Puri and several other districts till 8.30 am.
