Cuttack: In a bid to simplify the process of +2 admission in Odisha, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has announced that schools across the state will upload student data on Student Academic Management System (SAMS), said sources.

Steps will be taken by school authorities to ensure that all important details of students like name of parents, date of birth, etc. are uploaded on SAMS portal from 9th Std onwards. This system will make the process of registration for +2 admission seamless.

Students will need to furnish all data accurately to the school from 9th std, following which the authorities will verify the same and upload on SAMS. The system will also be applicable for ICSE and CBSE schools, apart from the state board, the sources added.

BSE president Srikant Tarai said all efforts will be put in to ensure flawless registration of students for +2 admission. The Council of Higher Secondary Education will hold discussions will BSE and SAMS officials to make the new system functional.

SAMS is an e-governance initiative in Odisha that manages the academic administration of over 4,000 colleges. SAMS provides a common platform for students to apply for admission to various courses and also offers several e-services to students at the institution level.
