Bhubaneswar: Unidentified miscreants looted cash worth Rs 10 lakh from the Bank of India (BoI) branch at Mancheswar in the Odisha capital on Monday afternoon.
According to sources, the miscreants arrived at the bank at Barimund in a motorcycle. They then barged into the bank and looted cash worth Rs 10 lakh by threatening the bank staffers.
Following the incident, the bank manager lodged a complaint with Mancheswar police.
Acting on the complaint, a special squad of police rushed to the bank for an on-the-spot investigation. The CCTV footage is being examined, the sources added.
This is the second bank loot incident in the city this month.
Earlier, a gang of dacoits had looted cash worth Rs 2.78 lakh at gunpoint from the Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) branch at Nandan Vihar under Infocity police limits in the afternoon on September 7.
