Dhenkanal: The Dhenkanal administration has clamped Section 144 at 14 major Shiva temples in the district to prevent congregation of ‘Bol Bom’ devotees or kanwariyas on every Shravan Monday in view of COVID-19 pandemic.
The temples are Sri Chandrashekharjiu in Kapilas, Unnakotishwar in Latadeipur, Maa Ramchandi-Kankeshwar in Odapada block, Nagannatheshwar in Sadar block, Pashimeswar in Gangadharaprasad, Rameswar under Tentulisingar in Kamakshanagar block, Kapileswar in Hatuari, Swapneswar in Sibulapasira, Budheswar in Bhuban, Swapneswar under Kuala in Parjung, Ranjagola Shrine in Hindol, Uddheswar in Rakala, Mataleswar in Mahatala, and Ugreswar Mahadev in Tittol.

These shrines have gained prominence over the years with a large number of devotees flocking to them during the month of Shravan.
Police have also made people aware of the restrictions at these temple through the public address system. Violators have been warned of strict action.
