Mumbai: Bollywood actor Salman Khan has once again received a threat allegedly from the Larence Bishnoi gang. In the latest threat, the actor had reportedly been asked to either visit a temple and seek apology for allegedly killing a black buck—a sacred creature for the Bishnoi community— or pay Rs 5 crore.
The Mumbai Police’s Traffic Control unit said they received a message from a person claiming to be gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother on Monday, reported the India Today. On failing to fulfil the demands, the message warned that the actor would be killed.
“If Salman Khan wants to stay alive, he should go to our temple and apologise or pay Rs 5 crore. If he does not do so, we will kill him; our gang is still active,” the message read, as reported by India Today.
Police have started investigation. The actor, whose security cover has been enhanced, has been receiving death threats since the murder of former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader, Baba Siddique. Police had even arrested two persons from different locations for sending threats to the actor.
Earlier this year, two unknown people attempted to trespass into Khan’s farmhouse in Panvel. There was a shooting incident outside his apartment, following which the Bishnoi gang had allegedly claimed the responsibility of the attack. He had also received a threat email, allegedly sent by gangster Goldy Brar, last year. In 2022, a letter threatening him was found on a bench near his residence.
