Self Meter Reading App Introduced In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Tata Power Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) on Monday announced the launch of its self meter reading app — TPCODL Mitra.

Consumers can now use the app to scan their meter readings and generate the bill themselves.

One has to first register for self meter reading service. Then they can capture the current reading on the meter using the phone’s camera, and submit it on the app to generate the bill. After the bill is generated, users can pay online through the app.

This app will help reduce the load on TPCODL employees who are currently noting meter readings physically.

Users can report safety or theft-related issues on the app, and also get information about power cuts.

Similar self-reading apps are being used in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and a few other places. This has reportedly helped people get updated bills during the pandemic.
