Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday appointed senior IPS officer Susanta Kumar Nath as the new Director General (DG) of Prisons.
A seasoned officer from the 1993-batch, Nath brings a wealth of experience to this crucial role, having served in diverse and challenging assignments throughout his career.
Nath, who had joined the Home Department after repatriation from the Centre, has been posted as DG of Prisons & Correctional Services, said a notification issued by the Home department.
In a fresh reshuffle in the police cadre, the state government also made some more new appointments.
Dayal Gangwar, an IPS officer of 1998-batch, who was serving as ADGP, headquarters, has been appointed as Additional DG, Communication.
Similarly, Prateek Mohanty, an IPS officer from 2000-batch, who joined the Home Department after repatriation from Centre, has been posted as ADGP, HQrs.
Likewise, Narayan Nayak, OPS (S), AIG of Police, Marine & Coastal Security, has been transferred and posted as SP Sonepur.
