Veteran actor Shabana Azmi was grievously injured in a car accident near Kahalpur on Saturday.
The accident took place around 4 pm when the car in which she was travelling with her husband, Javed Akhtar, rammed into a truck on Mumbai-Pune Expressway, media reports said.

While her driver was also injured in the accident, the lyricist escaped unhurt. The injured have been shifted to MGM Hospital.
Shabana and his family had celebrated Javed Akhtar’s 75th birthday on Friday with who’s who of Bollywood and business world.
