Mumbai: There’s good news for Shah Rukh Khan fans as the much-anticipated sequel of ‘Pathaan’ will apparently go on thr floors next year.
According to a PeepingMoon report, filmmaker Aditya Chopra has finalised the script for ‘Pathaan 2’ and is keen to begin the production early in 2026.
“Aditya has been working on the script for ‘Pathaan 2’ since mid-2023. The sequel is designed not only to carry forward Pathaan’s story but also to lay the groundwork for larger conflicts in upcoming installments of YRF’s Spy Universe. It was due to the extensive planning and intricate storytelling that the scripting process took so long. Aditya, along with Sridhar Raghavan and Abbas Tyrewala, has crafted an exhilarating, high-stakes script that promises to surpass the first installment in both scale and intensity. Aditya consulted SRK on the script, and he was thoroughly impressed and enthusiastic about the direction of the sequel,” a source close to the development told PeepingMoon.
The source further revealed that the filmmaker is looking for a new director to helm the project.
Rumours are doing the rounds that either Aditya himself will don the director’s hat or rope in Ayan Mukerji for the sequel.
However, there has been no official announcement regarding the same.
Shah Rukh will begin shooting for ‘Pathaan 2’ after completing Siddharth Anand’s ‘King.’
The upcoming high-octane action thriller ‘King’ also features SRK’s daughter Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Abhay Verma in key roles.
‘King’, which is scheduled to go on floors around April or May, will have a grand theatrical release in 2026.
