Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan is known as the ‘King of Romance’ in the industry. But the superstar, who has done numerous romantic films, has never visited or shot in the most romantic Kashmir valley.
During his recent appearance on the Amitabh Bachchan-hosted reality show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, the ‘Bollywood badshah’ shared why he has never visited Kashmir.
Shah Rukh, whose grandmother was a Kashmiri, said, “My father once told me that there are three places one must see in life — Istanbul, Rome, and Kashmir. He said I could visit the first two on my own, but Kashmir, I must only see with him. ‘I will show it to you,’ he said.”
Unfortunately, Shah Rukh’s father passed away before they could visit Kashmir together. The actor has never been keen to visit Kashmir since then.
“Papa left very early. I’ve travelled the entire world, but never Kashmir. I couldn’t bring myself to go… because he had said I should not see it without him”, the actor said.
This revelation made by SRK showed that behind a superstar is a devoted son, who respected his father’s promise.
Post the heinous terror attack on tourists in Jammu & Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22, Shah Rukh took to his X handle to condemn the attack.
Words fail to express the sadness and anger at the treachery and inhumane act of violence that has occurred in Pahalgam. In times like these, one can only turn to God and say a prayer for the families that suffered and express my deepest condolences. May we as a Nation, stand…
