Mumbai: The brutal murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique shook the entire nation, including the film industry as the politician shared a good comradeship with several Bollywood A-listers.

It was for Baba Siddique that friends turned foes Salman Khan and Shah Rukh had buried their hatchet and made peace with each other at his Iftar party in 2013. Both, SRK and Salman shared a great bond with Siddique.

While Salman rushed to Lilavati Hospital on learning about the attack on Siddique, close friend Shah Rukh neither paid a visit to the hospital nor attended his politician friend’s funeral.

Shah Rukh, who attended several Iftar parties hosted by the politician, preferred to stay away from the murder case to avoid any harm befalling upon him and his family, claimed a source.

“Shah Rukh Khan doesn’t want to get associated in the politician’s murder case. The case is also related to Salman Khan and King Khan, for that matter, he wishes to stay away from this! Knowing how Lawrence Bishnoi’s circuit works, Shah Rukh Khan doesn’t want any harm on him anymore. Hence, he has chosen ‘disappearance’ in the entire matter by skipping Baba Siddique’s funeral who was a close friend to him,” said the source to Times Now.

The bigwigs who paid their last respect to Baba Siddique included Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra, Pooja Bhatt, Zaher Iqbal, Maniesh Paul and many others.

Baba Siddique was shot dead on October 12 evening by three assailants when he was on his way to his son’s office. The politician was rushed to Lilavati Hospital where he was declared dead.

“Baba Siddiqui was brought to Lilavati Hospital & Research Centre, Emergency Medical Services at 9.30pm on Saturday in an unresponsive condition with no pulse, no blood pressure recording, no cardiac activity, with an history of gun shot wounds to the chest,” said Dr Uttamani, who attended wounded Siddique.

Out of the three shooters, two have been nabbed by the Mumbai police while the third is on run.

Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the murder of the politician, stating that whoever helps Salman and Dawood will meet the same fate as Siddique.
