A video shot by a Pakistani student in China’s Wuhan city has gone viral on social media. It shows Indian students being evacuated amid the coronavirus scare. Then a student can be heard saying, “Shame on you Pakistan, see how India is evacuating its people from China.”
Pakistan, which has around 800 students studying in universities in and around Wuhan, had earlier decided not to evacuate its citizens from the epicentre of the virus, citing that they are not prepared to handle the virus.
Pakistan’s ambassador to China Naghmana Hashmi on Sunday said that “medical facilities in Pakistan do not meet the standards” to deal with this virus. She also said that China has the best medical facilities to handle such patients and they are in constant touch with Chinese authorities to deal with the situation.

Pakistani students have been posting videos and messages on social media asking for help. In one video, a student can be heard saying. “Bangladeshis will also be evacuated today. Meanwhile, our government is telling us that you die, live, get infected, or whatever, but we won’t evacuate you, facilitate you. Shame on you Pakistan government. Learn from India. Learn by how well they look after their citizens.”

“I want to assure our citizens that the Pakistani embassy and Chinese government are working jointly to make sure their problems are immediately addressed. Currently, the province is quarantined and no one is allowed to go. As soon as the restrictions are lifted, we will be the first to be with our countrymen,” Geo News quoted Naghmana Hashmi as saying.
India on Sunday evacuated its second batch of 323 people from Wuhan to Delhi.
