New Delhi: Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, who had promoted ‘Bhabhiji papad’ to fight COVID-19, is in the news again.
Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Thursday took a dig at Meghwal’s unscientific comment. “Maharashtra has done good in controlling the pandemic and nobody was cured by eating the papad,” Raut said in Rajya Sabha.
I want to ask the members how did so many people recover? Kya log bhabhi ji ke papad kha karke theek ho gaye? This isn't a political fight but a fight to save the lives of people: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut during a discussion on the Statement made by Health Minister on COVID19 https://t.co/hswIFDPTlc

In July, Meghwal had said that ‘Bhabiji papad’ was made from ingredients which could help in building antibodies against COVID-19.
Raut went a step. “Maharashtra has actively controlled the spread, and Dharavi is the best example, which is the largest slum in the country. Many ministers are infected, a former cricketer-minister Chetan Chauhan has died. There should be no blame game on the issue and we should fight this pandemic together,” he commented.
