Mumbai: Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna’s ‘Sikandar’ is scheduled to hit theatres on Eid this year.
Currently, the shooting of the film has reportedly been paused for some time as Rashmika has suffered an injury.
“Rashmika recently sustained an injury in the gym and has been recovering well by resting. However, this has caused a temporary halt to the filming of her upcoming projects. Nevertheless, she’s already feeling much better and will resume work on set very soon!” a source close to the actress said.
The source further shared that Rashmika has been advised to take adequate rest in order to recover fast. She can resume shooting only after her doctor declares her fit.
The final leg of ‘Sikandar,’ which is scheduled for a late March release, was to be shot on Friday in Mumbai. But since Rashmika is recuperating, the shoot has been postponed.
“The last schedule will start on January 10 in Mumbai. Salman and Rashmika Mandanna will be back on set. Even though the film is due for release in March, the team is confident of comfortably completing it in time,” Mid-Day reported earlier quoting a source.
Directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, ‘Sikandar’ also features Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar.
Besides ‘Sikandar,’ Rashmika has two other projects lined up — ‘Chhava’ with Vicky Kaushal and horror comedy ‘Thama’ co-starring Ayushmann Khurrana.
Rashmika delivered an impressive performance in Sukumar’s ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ alongside Allu Arjun. The film has broken all box-office records of other blockbuster films.
