Shops That Are Allowed To Open In Cuttack From Tomorrow
Cuttack: After a day of confusion, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) along with the Collector on Sunday decided on the types of shops that can open during the COVID-19 lockdown.
In the non-essential category, the CMC has listed the following the stores that can remain open:
(i) All neighbourhood shops, stand-alone shops and shops in residential complexes as registered under the Odisha Shops & Commercial Establishments Act, 1956 are allowed to open. All shops in single and multi-brand retail malls or market complexes are to remain closed.
(ii) Sit-in restaurants, swimming pools, salons, gyms and barber shops will continue to remain closed. Takeaway is, however, permitted.
(iii) Jewellery shops/showrooms will continue to remain closed.
(iv) It is clarified that sale and delivery by e-commerce companies will be permitted for essential goods only.
(v) It is further clarified that sale of liquor, tobacco or any other intoxicant, including paan and supari, continues to be prohibited as specified in National Directives for COVID-19 management.
(vi) All non-essential retail stores as permitted above will be allowed to remain open from 11 AM to 5 PM daily.
(vi) Wholesale stores for such non-essential items will be allowed to function from 6 am to 11 am.
(vii) Those shops which are wholesale-cum-retail can avail either one of the time slots (6 AM-11 AM or 11 AM-5 PM) but not both.
(viii) All such stores, whether wholesale or retail, will function with 50 per cent staff capacity. They will ensure that all staff wear masks and strictly adhere to social distancing guidelines.
(ix) All stores must keep sanitizers for themselves and their customers.
(x) Restrictions on vehicular traffic remain. Shopkeepers have been directed travel with some ID Proof/ Trade Licence Copy/Holding Tax Receipt or any other form of registration which will be an acceptable permission for travel.
