Shortage Of Covaxin For 18-44 Age Group In Bhubaneswar, Admits BMC
Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Thursday admitted to an acute shortage of Covaxin doses for the second jab for people in the age group of 18-44 years.
Talking to mediapersons here, BMC Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Singh said they had enough vaccines for 45 years and above age group, but not for those between 18 and 44 years.
He, however, clarified that vaccines will be available before the required interval between the two doses ends.
“The BMC had launched the vaccination drive for the 18-44 age groups on May 3. As per the statutory provisions, the due date for those who had taken the first jab on this day is June 13. We are hopeful of getting the vaccine doses in these 10 days,” he added.
