Bhubaneswar: Rajya Sabha member from BJD, Sasmit Patra, on Monday said that he felt honoured to be part of the Centre’s all-party delegations to present India’s stance on combating terrorism in the context of Operation Sindoor.
Sasmit is part of the Shrikant Eknath Shinde-led delegation, which will travel to UAE, Liberia, Democratic Republic of Congo and Sierra Leone. “The delegation will leave tomorrow night for Abu Dhabi, followed by visits to three African countries. We will be back by June 3 or June 4. I am looking forward to the MEA briefing tomorrow,” he said.
The BJD MP further stated that the delegation will interact with other countries with evidence, facts and all details on how Pakistan has become a hub of terrorism and is bleeding India by proxy wars. “The main objective is to expose the terrorism being spread by Pakistan and to inform other nations about the current situation following Operation Sindoor,” he said.
Besides presenting these issues on the global platform, he said that the delegation will explicate India’s decision to conduct Operation Sindoor in the aftermath of Pahalgam terror attack, which resulted in loss of 26 lives.
BJP’s Bansuri Swaraj, Atul Garg, Manan Kumar Mishra, and Union Muslim League MP Mohammed Basheer, and Sujan Chinoy are also part of this delegation.
A total of 51 political leaders, including parliamentarians and former ministers from various parties, and 8 former ambassadors, are part of seven delegations that will visit over 30 countries to present India’s united stance against terrorism and to build international consensus.
