Balangir: In view of rising COVID-19 cases, the Balangir administration on Thursday declared four-day shutdown in the entire district from August 8 to 11.
All shops and business establishments will remain closed during this period, Collector Arindam Dakua informed.
The COVID-19 tally in the district touched 551 on Thursday with detection of 21 more cases in the last 24 hours. Balangir has reported 126 new cases since the beginning of August with the highest single-day spike of 51 on August 3.
