Bhubaneswar/ New Delhi: Brand Ambassador of Swachha Bharat Mission ‘Silver Gandhi’ fame Mohan Mohapatra recently completed his eleven-year-long padayatra from 2014 to 2025 in different parts of the country coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s completion of eleven years in office.
He has also concluded his year-long march in Odisha on June 12 on the occasion of first anniversary celebration of Mohan Majhi government in the state. The Prime objectives of these padayatras were to propagate, promote and popularize PM Modi’s noble missions like Clean India, Plantation of a Tree for Mother’s sake and unfurling of tri-colour in every Indian’s home.
Dedicating his entire padayatras to Modi, Silver Gandhi proclaimed himself as the biggest fan of PM. Congratulating Modi on completion of his eleven remarkable years as PM, he said in a statement, ”Whole Nation is grateful for PM Modi’s eleven years of selfless service, visionary leadership, tireless efforts of Nation building and unwavering commitment to elevate India’s global stature”.
The Inaugural and closing ceremonies of these padayatras in New Delhi, Gandhi Nagar in Gujarat, Kurukhestra in Haryana and other places of the country were graced by several distinguished dignitaries like Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Manohar Lal Khattar, Gujarat’s Chief Minister Bhupendra Bhai Patel, Haryana’s Minister Subhash Sudha, MP of North East Delhi Manoj Tiwari, BJP leader Smt Mridula Pradhan and Secretary of Neelachala Seva Sangha Ravindra Nath Pradhan.
A passed out from Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, Utkal University of Culture in Bhubaneswar and National School of Drama in New Delhi, Mohan Mohapatra resembles Mahatma Gandhi. Painting his body in silver, Mohan used to dress up like Gandhiji and roam around to popularise Gandhi’s lofty philosophies. He has been using his persona to raise awareness on social issues like Clean India, COVID – 19 and anti-liquor campaigns. A Bollywood film in Hindi language entitled “Silver Gandhi” has also been made basing on his life history.
Speaking to media, Mohan observed that being a fan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he has been greatly impressed and inspired with the life and ideals of PM. His sole intention of undertaking these painstaking padayatras in nook and corners of India is to carry on PM Modi’s messages to each and every citizen of the country, he added.
