New Delhi: Chandrayaan-3, which made history by landing on the Moon’s south polar region one week ago, has been displaying its ‘discoveries’ to the world every day.
On Wednesday, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) shared the ‘image of the mission’ – the Vikram lander standing firm on the surface of Moon as clicked by Pragyan rover.
The photo was taken by the Navigation Camera on board Rover (NavCam), informed ISRO.
“The NavCams, crucial to the mission’s success, were developed by the Laboratory for Electro-Optics Systems (LEOS),” ISRO tweeted.

The NavCams serve as the ‘eyes’ of Pragyan rover, guiding it as it traverses the challenging lunar terrain.
Two days ago, the rover spotted a big crater ahead of it after which Pragyan changed its path.
As the mission continues, over the next seven days, many more significant images and data are expected to shed light on unexplored aspects of Moon’s surface.
