Indore: Now, the Raja Raghuvanshi honeymoon murder, case has got a new twist. The family of the deceased, who was murdered while on his honeymoon in Meghalaya last month, has levelled allegations of black magic on his wife Sonam Raghuvanshi — the prime accused. They suggested she may have used “tantra mantra” (black magic) on him and offered him as a “human sacrifice” to improve her father’s health, reports claim.
Raja was hacked on May 23 near the Weisawdong Falls in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya. His decomposed body was found on June 2, days after a search was launched by local police when the couple had gone missing.
Raja’s father, Ashok Raghuvanshi, recalled a disturbing incident prior to the couple’s trip. “On Sonam’s insistence, Raja had hung a bundle-like object at our main door. She told him it would protect the household from evil. After the murder, the bundle disappeared. I now believe she used some form of black magic on my son. Those guilty should be hanged,” he told reporters, as quoted by India Today.
Raja’s brother, Sachin Raghuvanshi, has also alleged that the murder was ‘ritualistic’ and premediated. “This wasn’t an accident or illness. It was a human sacrifice driven by black magic. Sonam sacrificed my brother to improve her father’s health,” he claimed.
Raja Raghuvanshi’s mother, Uma, said her son and Sonam were ‘mangliks’ (connected to Mars in a person’s horoscope). The couple had reportedly got married in the traditional format as per ‘muhurat’ (auspicious time) suggested by an astrologer of the bride’s family.
Sonam (25), along with her alleged boyfriend Raj Kushwaha (25) and three others accused, have been arrested for Raja’s murder. After disappearing following the murder scene, Sonam had surfaced in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh and surrendered to the police on June 9.
All five accused are currently in the custody of Meghalaya Police. Probe is on.
