Son’s Death Leads Couple To Commit Suicide In Odisha’s Kalahandi: Man Dies, Wife Critical

Bhawanipatna: After the death of their minor son, a couple in Kalahandi district reportedly attempted to commit suicide by consuming pesticide on Tuesday night. While the man died, the condition of his wife was critical.

The incident took place in Tumermunda village under Kesinga police limits. The deceased was identified as Bishnu Gouda and his wife Madhabi.

According to the locals, the only son of Bishnu and Madhabi had died of snake bite a year ago. Since then, Madhabi had gone into depression and was undergoing treatment. She returned home on Tuesday.

After they committed suicide, their neighbours admitted them in a nearby hospital.
