Bhubaneswar: Sourabh Soumyakanta Das has topped the JEE Main Examination 2020 from Odisha. The results were declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Friday night.
Das scored 99.9924070 percentile in the state-wise category rank in the test.
The JEE Main 2020 was held from January 7 to 9 online at various centres across the country and the results were released in a record 9 days at jeemain.nic.in and jeemain.nta.nic.in. It was expected to be declared by January 31, 2020.
A total of nine candidates have scored a perfect 100 percentile this year. Nishant Aggarwal from Delhi, Jitendra Landa and Vishnu Sri Sai Sankar Thadavarthy from Andhra Pradesh, Nisrag Chadha from Gujarat, Divayanshu Aggarwal from Haryana, Akhil Jain and Parth Jain from Rajasthan, and Rongala Arun Siddardha and Chagari Koushal Kumar Reddy from Telangana scored a perfect 100.
A total number of 9,21,261 candidates were registered for B.E. /B. Tech.in this examination out of which 8,69,010 candidates appeared.
Candidates who have qualified JEE main exam are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced exam.
Around 1.5 lakh students, who have topped the exam, are eligible for the JEE Advanced and for selection to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), sources said.
