Bhubaneswar: Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into Odisha and it is likely cover more parts of the state during the next 3-4 days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Thursday.
According to the weather agency, thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface windspeed reaching 30-40 kmph may occur at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Khurda, Nayagarh, Boudh, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, and Puri districts on June 20.
Similar weather condition may prevail in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Boudh, Sonepur, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Rayagada during the subsequent 24 hours.
Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface windspeed reaching 30-40 kmph is likely in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur districts on June 22.
Hot and humid weather condition may prevail in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati on June 20 and Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, and Nayagarh on June 21.
Though there is no further weather warning, light to moderate rain may continue at a few places in the state.
The IMD has also predicted gradual fall in the day temperature by 2-3 degree Celsius during the next 3 days with no change thereafter.
