Google’s YouTube on Wednesday started a new student-specific plan for YouTube Music Premium and YouTube Premium in India.
Eligible college students will get ad-free access to YouTube’s music, global originals and movies. The subscription rates are:
YouTube Music Premium – ₹59
YouTube Premium – ₹79
To be eligible for the plans, a user has to be a full-time student from accredited colleges or universities in India.
YouTube Music competes with Spotify, Amazon Music, JioSaavn, Gaana and Apple Music in India. It had clocked 3M downloads in a week of launch, in March 2018.
The digital music industry in India is valued at over ₹830 crore, according to reports.
