Bhubaneswar: A speeding car hit four vehicles and crashed into a government quarter near Unit-2 petrol pump in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
Four persons were critically injured in the pile up, according to eyewitnesses.
The chain reaction started when car, heading towards Rajmahal Square from AG Square, rammed into an autorickshaw and the two more cars and another rickshaw parked along the road. The vehicle then veered out of control and crashed into the gate of a nearby government quarter.
On being informed, police with the help of locals rescued the injured persons and sent them to a local hospital here for treatment.
It is being alleged that the person behind the wheels was heavily drunk and could barely stand. He has been detained by Capital Police for questioning.
