Bhubaneswar: COVID vaccine Sputnik-V is now available in the Odisha capital.
According to sources, Care Hospitals in the city has received 600 single-dose vials of the vaccine in the first phase and the registration will open on the CoWin portal from Tuesday.
Currently, the vaccine is priced at Rs 1,145. Beneficiaries belonging to both 18-44 years and 45 years and above can book their slots on CoWIN portal to get the jab at the private hospital.
It may be mentioned here that the soft launch for Sputnik V was initiated by Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories in May, a partner for Sputnik V in India.
Deputy Medical Superintendent of the hospital told the media that 151 doses will be administered to employees and family members of Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, as per the company norms, in the first two days. However, 20 slots will be opened for the general public on Tuesday and Wednesday.
There will be two sessions – 3 pm to 4 pm for people aged 18-44 years and 4 pm to 5 pm for 45 years and above. The session will open from 10 am to 4 pm with 50 slots per day after two days, she added.
The Russian vaccine is likely to be available at Apollo Hospitals in the city from next month with the authorities expecting the vials by June 30.
