Bhubaneswar: With the IMD forecasting constant rise in maximum day temperature in many places of Odisha during next 3 days, the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) issued an advisory on Sunday.
The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its evening bulletin, stated that 7 places in the recorded maximum temperature of 40 degree Celsius or more on the day.
Angul recorded the highest temperature of 41.7 degree Celsius in the state, followed by Boudh with 41.5 degree, Talcher 41, Jharsuguda 40.8, Sambalpur 40.3 and Balangir and Sambalpur 40 degree Celsius.
The IMD has forecast that maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to rise gradually by 2 to 4 degree Celsius at many places in Odisha during next 3 days.
The SRC, in a tweet said, “As per the forecast given by the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, there would be steady increase in day temperature in various districts. People are advised to stay indoors during peak hours and not go outside unless absolutely necessary.”
The IMD has also issued yellow warning and forecast that light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Ganjam , Gajapati and one or two places in the districts of coastal Odisha by 8 am on Monday.
