State Of The State Conclave Odisha: Technology Can Never Replace A Teacher, Says Silpi Sahoo
Bhubaneswar: Digital mode of learning was the way out during the COVID-19 pandemic, but technology can never replace a teacher, said Dr Silpi Sahoo, Chairperson of SAI International Education Group.
She was speaking during a panel discussion at the India Today-organized State of the State Conclave Odisha 2022 on Friday.
Asked how difficult it is to take private education to every part of Odisha, Dr Sahoo remarked that schools of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya (OAV) Sangthan are spread across urban and rural areas of the state and there are almost 314 CBSE schools of OAV.
On the issue of NEP 2020 emphasising on education in mother tongue, Dr Sahoo said that learning mother tongue is pivotal and praised the Indian government for coming up with this clause.
“Odia should be given priority as a mother tongue, but yes, English as a language is also important and NEP 2020 has given a great opportunity to enhance mother tongue”.
