Ayodhya: The world’s first Ramayana-themed wax museum will be inaugurated in Ayodhya by Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday, on the occasion of the ninth Deepotsav celebrations. The museum promises to be a big attraction for tourists.
Spread across 9,850 square feet, the museum is a blend of faith, art, and tourism, officials said. Built at a cost of Rs 6 crore, it is located on the Chaudah Kosi Parikrama route. It promises to transport visitors straight into Treta Yuga, the era in which the Ramayana is set.
The museum offers a one-of-a-kind experience that combines mythology, technology, and artistry. Only 100 visitors will be allowed at a time and the entry fee is Rs 100 per person.
“The museum will be operated in collaboration with the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation, with 12 per cent of its revenue directed towards the city’s development. It is designed to bring the Ramayana back to life. The ground floor showcases scenes from Ram Lalla’s childhood to Sita’s swayamvar, while the first floor depicts the exile, Lanka Dahan, and the Ram-Ravana war,” an official said.
Visitors will be welcomed by a magnificent idol of Lord Ganesha at the entrance, symbolising an auspicious start of the journey. The museum has full-fledged security arrangements with 24×7 CCTV surveillance, fire safety provisions and four emergency exits. Its air-conditioned interiors are will have a temperature of 22°C at all times.
It has been constructed by Kerala-based Sunil Wax Museum, known for its celebrity wax museums. Sunil, the owner of the company has said that the project is unlike anything they’ve done before, a cultural and devotional masterpiece where “each statue is sculpted with such precision that visitors will feel they’ve stepped into the Treta Yuga.”
The museum will help attract more tourists to Ayodhya and will help transform the city into a world-class tourist destination, as envisaged by the chief minister.
