Bhubaneswar: The STF of Odisha Police has arrested a drug peddler of Puri district who was absconding since 2022 in a narcotics seizure case.
Acting on the intelligence input, the STF team conducted a raid and nabbed the peddler, identified as Md Raja of Jharanasahi in Ghoradia under Delanga police station.
The STF had arrested three persons for possession of 3.10 kg of brown sugar during a raid in January, 2022. Besides, Rs 65.32 lakh in cash, three 7 MM Pistol, magazines, 43 rounds of 7 MM ammunitions and other incriminating materials were seized from their possession. Raja was absconding since then.
Following the arrest, the accused has been forwarded to the court of district and sessions judge-cum-special judge, Nayagarh.
