Stolen SUV Of JP Nadda’s Wife Recovered After 18 Days; How Did It Go Missing?
New Delhi: More than a fortnight after it was stolen, the car belonging to BJP president JP Nadda’s wife Mallika Nadda was recovered by Delhi Police.
The SUV, a Toyota Fortuner, was reported stolen from Delhi’s Govindpuri area on March 19. Officials said on Sunday it was recovered from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
Mallika Nadda’s driver had left the car unattended in Govindpuri after it was taken for servicing.
A report was lodged with police, leading to an investigation.
It took the cops a number of days to trace the car. They finally got a lead from CCTV footage showing the SUV heading towards Gurugram with a Himachal Pradesh license plate, officials informed.
Two persons have been arrested apprehended in connection with the car theft.
“We have arrested two persons in this case. During interrogation, the accused revealed that they had stolen the SUV on demand and were planning to take it to Nagaland,” officials said.
