Bhubaneswar: An engineering student of a private university was found dead in his hostel room on Wednesday. The student has been identified as Bishnu Bharadwaj Pati of Jajpur.
He was studying in fourth semester in Radiology in Jatni-based university.
According to reports, some students found Pati hanging from the hostel’s room ceiling around 12 noon and informed university authorities. He was rushed to AIIMS Bhubaneswar where the doctors declared him brought dead.
His batchmates said Pati seemed normal during the day after the fourth semester exam at the centre on Wednesday morning.

Soon after, students staged a protest by locking the main gate and alleged ragging by senior students.
Jatni Police reached the spot and are investigating into the case. Hostel authorities are yet to issue any statement regarding the unfortunate incident.
