Students Gherao Assembly Finance Committee Members Demanding Bus Service

Paradip: Hundreds of students of different schools gheraoed the finance committee members of Odisha Assembly at Nehru Bangla Guest House in Paradip on Monday, demanding bus service.

Braving the rain, the students accompanied by their guardians urged the committee members to provide bus service that has been stopped by the authorities concerned.

“Hundreds of students go to different schools in Paradip, which is about 12 km, every day. The authorities, however, suspended bus service this year because of which the students are facing a lot of difficulties. We demand immediate restoration of bus service,” an agitating student said.

The finance committee members led by MLA Saroj Samal had come for night halt at the guest house after reviewing different developmental projects in Jagatsinghpur district. They assured the students and their parents that their demands will be looked into.
