Bhubaneswar: In an effort to make people aware of the ‘Subhadra Yojana’, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday flagged off ‘Subhadra Sachetanata Raths’ which will roll across the state spreading awareness about the scheme for the welfare of women.
The Chief Minister launched the campaign by flagging the special ‘chariots’ in Bhubaneswar on the occasion of holy Ganesh Puja.
The vehicles will visit various places in the state to inform people about the ambitious scheme.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the scheme will empower every woman in the state and fulfil their dreams. “This is not merely a government scheme, it will be the identity of our ‘Asmita’,” said Majhi
The ‘Subhadra Sachetanata Ratha’ will visit village to village, block to block to make people aware of the Subhadra Yojana.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who is holding the Women and Child Development portfolio, and senior officials were also present on the occasion at the Mahatma Gandhi Marg.
The Deputy CM reiterated the state government’s earlier announcement that there is no deadline for submission of the application form for Subhadra Yojana.
Stressing that the registration process for the scheme will continue till the last beneficiary submits the application form, she said the government will ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left out.
“We will ensure that all eligible beneficiaries are able to get the benefits of the scheme,” Parida said. Therefore, people should avoid creating large crowd for submission of application forms as there is no last date for registration, she added.
