Berhampur: Ganjam district reported over 200 COVID-19 for the second consecutive day on Wednesday.
In the last 24 hours, 215 more people were found infected in the district. Among these, 184 are local contact cases, while 26 are corona warriors and the remaining five have travel history.

With these new cases, the COVID-19 tally in the district rose to 2836. While the administration has tweeted about 24 deaths due to the virus, the Health Department puts the toll at 27. Three patients of Ganjam succumbed to the disease on Wednesday.

What is worrying for the district, which has sealed borders with Khurda and Nayagarh, is the detection of more number of local cases. As many as 555 such cases have been detected in the last three days.
