Bhubaneswar: The surge in COVID-19 cases continued in the Odisha capital with another 427 people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
With these new cases, the affected tally in the city touched 14492 on Wednesday. Around 3000-3500 tests are currently being conducted in Bhubaneswar every day.

According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 191 are contacts of previous patients and 236 local contact cases.
Nine cases have been reported from Palasuni, eight from Satya Nagar and seven more from Salia Sahi. Five staff of a private hospital have also been infected.
The local contact cases include nine from Sailshree Vihar and eight from New Forest Park. Another seven among them are police staff and four private hospital employees.
Two are native of another district.
The BMC also informed about 401 more patients recovering from the infection. The last 24 hours also saw two COVID-19 deaths.
With 52 deaths and 9350 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 5077 active cases.
