Susant Misra’s Hindi Film Bags International Award For Set Design By Another Odia
Bhubaneswar: Odia filmmaker Susant Misra’s Hindi film titled ‘Josef – Born in Grace’ has bagged the Best Set Design award at the Madrid International Film Festival 2020.
The set for the film was designed by Odisha-born celebrated Bollywood art director Sukant Panigrahi.
Creative associate of the film, Ashok Mahapatra told Times Of India that the film was nominated in several others categories, including Best Foreign Film, Best Director in Foreign Film and Best Supporting Role in a Foreign Film for actor Sudarshan Juyal.
“It won the Best Set Design award. The film festival was held from September 1 to 5 and the award ceremony was held on September 6. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the festival was held online,” Mahapatra was quoted as saying by TOI.
‘Josef – Born in Grace’ is an adaptation of a short story, Joseph, by Umakanta Mahapatra. The story is set in the Himalayas between 1960 and 1980 in India.
The film stars national and international award-winning actors namely Victor Banerjee, Subrat Dutta and Sudarshan Juyal in key roles.
Earlier, the film had won a Silver Remi Award at the 2020 edition of Worldfest Houston for Best Christian Film.
It also featured in the 344 eligible feature films list for the 2019 Academy Awards recently announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
