Mumbai: Sushant Singh Rajput’s ‘Dil Bechara’ co-star Sanjana Sanghi has reportedly bagged the lead role opposite Aditya Roy Kapur in the upcoming film titled ‘Om: The Battle Within’.
According to a Mumbai Mirror report, the actress is quite thrilled about her new project, which is also her first big-budget commercial entertainer.
“I explored many scripts, but OM offered me the spectrum jump that I was looking for, giving me an entirely unchartered territory of a big commercial actioner,” Sanjana was quoted as saying by Mumbai Mirror.
In the film, Sanjana plays the role of Kavya, who according to her is a confident, hardworking, and brave girl.
Talking about her character in the film, Sanjana said, “She’s someone every young Indian girl aspires to be, and a character one hasn’t seen before. I’m excited because I will get to do a lot of action for which various kinds of training and prep is currently on. It’s testing, both physically and mentally, but thrilling too.”
While ‘Dil Bechara’ was Sanjana’s first film, it was Sushant’s last film.
Speaking about the irreplaceable loss of a talented actor like Sushant, the actress said, “I don’t think I’ll ever be able to wrap my head or heart around the loss and the circumstances amidst which our film reached the audience. However, the unfathomable love, appreciation, and embrace of the audiences made for the most befitting tribute to the legend that was Sushant and helped me cope with the tragedy.”
