Niali: In a suspected case of honour killing, a minor girl was allegedly murdered at Anlo village under Niali police limits in Cuttack district.
The girl’s uncle, aunt, two brothers and elder brother’s wife have been detained in this connection.
According to available information, the girl was staying at her uncle’s place along with her mother for the last ten years since the death of her father. However, the villagers alleged that she was murdered and then set afire by her family members over a love affair on May 19. The matter came to the light after the girl’s body was recovered a few kilometres away from the village.
Police have begun investigation to know the reason behind the mysterious death of the girl.
On the other hand, the locals have demanded strict action against those involved in the case.
