Bhubaneswar: While mystery continues to shroud the death of DJ Azex, who was found hanging in his room at his Kharvela Nagar residence in Odisha capital, his family members on Sunday alleged that love betrayal drove him to take the extreme step.
Azex’s uncle told the media that he was being blackmailed by girl, a medical student. “We saw the threatening message in his phone and reference to a guy called Rashmi. He had also recently transferred Rs 15,000 to her account. The girl was reportedly two-timing them,” he claimed.
Sources said that suspected love triangle could be the reason behind his death. The woman was reportedly forcing Azex to contact Rashmi and perform all parties being organised by him. The popular DJ was also allegedly being mentally tortured.
The DJ last spoke to his family around 6.30 pm on Saturday before retiring to his room. But he did not respond to constant knocking on his door around 10.30 pm and later was found hanging in his room. He was rushed to Kar Hospital where doctors declared his dead.
His body has been kept in the Capital hospital mortuary and investigation is underway by Kharvela Nagar police.
